Saint Nick the Lesser – God Bless

“God Bless”: A Sonic Rollercoaster of Satire and Southern Revival

Saint Nick the Lesser returns with “God Bless,” a magnetic fusion of alt-country and folk-punk, released on May 7, 2025. Recorded at Sivraj Studios, this track captures the fervor of Southern Baptist revivals through its energetic blend of chaotic church-like moments and satirical lyrics, tackling the ever-encroaching arm of government into personal lives. Co-produced with Ryan Jarvis and Rob Maile, the recording sessions were characteristic for their spontaneity, most notably evidenced by tambourine accidents that captured the raw studio energy. The track reflects Saint Nick’s signature sound, heavily influenced by punk and Americana stalwarts like Frank Turner and Chuck Regan.

In “God Bless,” Nick channels the vivacious spirit often seen in pop-up church tent revivals, infusing a playful irreverence that offers both musical and lyrical respite within his otherwise heavier album, “Growing up, growing out.” This release adds a new chapter to Nick’s journey, embodying punk ethos while maintaining his mission to connect and inspire beyond the music.

Maddox Jones – 21

Reviving a Classic: Maddox Jones Reimagines ’21’ with Nashville Flair

Maddox Jones

Northampton’s own Maddox Jones is creating waves as he breathes fresh life into his acclaimed track “21,” featured in the deluxe edition, ‘(Still) Waiting for the World To Turn’. Available through Radikal Records, this soft rock pop gem is born anew among Nashville luminaries.

Originally a moving piano ballad, “21” captures the universal march of time, a nostalgic reflection on youthful days now past. “As a musician it’s easy to get caught in the trap of thinking that you have to be young to be relevant” Maddox acknowledges, urging listeners to embrace life’s orchestra at any stage.

Produced in the legendary Blackbird Studio and laced with expertise from Grammy-winner Vance Powell, the track is transformed with contributions from Nashville’s finest. Maddox’s stirring vocals find harmony with piano maestro Billy Justineau, Lex Price on bass, and guitar virtuoso Gideon Klein, culminating in a cathartic chorus led by drummer Chris McHugh.

Amid tours with icons Will Young and Lucy Spraggan, Maddox infuses indie rock, pop, and soul in a heartfelt celebration of life’s melodies. This awaited release heralds the next chapter in Maddox Jones’ evolving symphony.
