Paris Pick, the genre-defying Yacht-Pop Princess, returns with her latest single, “THE THINGS THAT YOU DO.” This shimmering, introspective gem dives deep into the complexities of love, self-reflection, and longing. Melding whip-smart melodies with raw emotional depth, the track tells a deeply personal story while remaining universally relatable.
Now based in Nelson, British Columbia—her birth province—after almost a decade thriving in Whitehorse, Yukon, Pick enters an exciting new chapter of her musical journey.
Co-written and produced by Pick alongside Jordy Walker, “THE THINGS THAT YOU DO” arrives as the second offering from her upcoming album, THIRD TIME’S A CHARM, and builds on the momentum of her fan-favorite single “GET MY BABY BACK.” The track’s rich production and wistful lyrics continue to showcase Paris’s signature blend of retro and modern influences.
On the inspiration behind the track, Paris Pick shares; “This is a song about love that needs no explanation—it should just be obvious. I wrote it during a turbulent time in my life, right after a major breakup. While it might sound like an optimistic love song, for me, it came from a place of frustration as I tried to process the unraveling of my relationship. Writing this track was my way of turning that sadness into something more carefree and hopeful. Deep down, I was longing for love to be effortless—no words necessary.”
The accompanying music video, directed by Blair Coyle, offers an intimate, slice-of-life perspective on Paris Pick’s day-to-day as an artist. Filmed in downtown Nelson, BC, the video captures Pick living out of her van, adding an organic, unfiltered charm that perfectly matches the song’s mood. “We shot the video in just a few hours,” Paris notes. “It’s carefree and easygoing—exactly the vibe I wanted to convey.”
