Purwien & Kowa return with Concorde, the first single from their forthcoming album Sechs. Known for transforming retro impulses into sharply drawn sonic narratives, the duo re-emerges with a track that treats synth-pop as both vehicle and destination, merging vintage electronic cool with modern irony and a knowing wink.

“Supersonic speed is not a matter of technology, but of attitude,” Purwien & Kowa declare, and Concorde takes that statement as its flight plan. Newly inspired by the sounds of KRAFTWERK, the duo channels the sleek precision of early electronic music with mischievous delight. The result feels like discovering an old jetliner model in the attic, polishing it to a chrome shine, and rebuilding it as a time machine.

Lyrically, Concorde indulges in the fantasy of luxury travel, champagne, caviar, and the almost mythic ease of paying with your name instead of cash. It captures nostalgia for an experience most listeners never actually had, which is part of its charm. This is escapism at a stylish remove, a song about dreaming of supersonic glamour from the economy-class reality of the present.

Musically, the track is vivid, polished, and purposeful. Its synthesized textures glide with the aerodynamic confidence of its namesake, while the beat keeps everything moving with clean, propulsive momentum. Purwien & Kowa nod to synth-pop’s golden era without becoming trapped inside it, shaping a soundscape where past and future blur into one bright, artificial horizon.

The accompanying video pushes the concept even further. In a suitably theatrical gesture, Thomas Kowa steps into the cockpit of the last remaining Concorde in Bristol, turning the song’s fantasy into something delightfully literal. Whether he actually gets it airborne remains part of the joke, and part of the invitation.

Despite no one explicitly demanding their return, Purwien & Kowa’s re-entry feels welcome, playful, and fully charged. Concorde is not merely a comeback single. It is a stylish act of transportation, a synth-driven daydream about speed, status, and the seductive absurdity of imagined luxury. It works because the duo never treats the fantasy too seriously, allowing the track’s glamour, humour, and electronic precision to coexist in the same polished cabin, where every synth line feels both nostalgic and knowingly theatrical. As Sechs approaches, the duo offers a reminder that music does not need a boarding pass to take flight.
